Fashion Police Never Misses

{16 September 2007}   Plain Colored Top

I know I have tons of clothes in my closet and some of them I barely wear. I could live without having to do the laundry for a month and still would have enough. Yeah, that much. But I still find it hard to look for something to wear. Most of my tops are printed or have designs with them. Most of my pants and shorts are in plaid and pinstripes. I therefore conclude I need to shop plain tops.

My personal fave tops are those with a V neckline since they have a slimming effect. It also shows the necklace or accessory you are wearing around your neck. I would need it in different colors like green, blue, red, orange, purple and pink. Baseball tops from Topman are also very nice. They come in different colors sometimes two colors in one garment. Of course the main consideration would be the fabric which should be made from 100% cotton. Mall, here I come.

{26 June 2007}   White Pants

white pants

When I got out of the shower this morning, it was way too hot! I could feel sweat again. Argh! This is what I don’t like about summer. I started thinking about what to wear in this scorching weather. It has to be light colored, soft and light fabric. I took my orange shirt and my sneakers with orange stripes. Perfect. Now, what pants or shorts should I use?As I rummaged through my closet, I saw them hanging, my white pants.

I rarely use my white pants since they easily get dirty and they make my legs look bigger. The fabric is light and the design is classic. I actually got it on sale for the half the price, I think. When I put them on and checked my self in the mirror, I found the outfit odd. It was normal but I wanted to add an edge to it. I didn’t want to use layers because of the heat. I decided to fold it higher making it a mid-calf walking shorts. Love it. It looked hip and just perfect for the summer. I wore my sunglasses to complete the look and grabbed my carry-all on my way out.

{10 June 2007}   Suede Shoes

suedeI am a shoe-addict. Well, my wardrobe is the evidence since I have almost 15 pairs. I’m no celebrity but I do find a way to wear them. Trust me, I do. I make it a point to rotate using them at least once a week. One purchase of mine was a cream suede loafers from Gola. Actually, I was planning to buy a bag on that day but ended up with the shoe instead. The interior was soft and the shoe was really comfortable. Plus it was sold at 50% off. Great buy indeed.

The real challenge began when I started wearing them. Yes they were nice to wear but they easily get dirty. I could not wear them during rainy days and I have to be very cautious where I go. Obviously in spite of my care, it still got dirty through time. I do not have a suede cleaner or even know how to clean it. And I saw another black suede topsider that really looked nice. I’m having second thoughts about it because it is hard to maintain.

{14 April 2007}   Fossil Yet Again

One could not have too many watches. That line really stuck to my head since it definitely has a point. You should have one for formal occasions, sporty look, casual days and the list goes on. One fine April morning, I was so eager to go to work since it was a payday. Not just an ordinary payday but it was also the payout of our bonus! Yay! More money, more shopping trips!

While going around the mall, I decided to buy a pair of white loafers. They were an investment and I would sure use them for a long time. I went to the watch store to check out if there was anything new. I’ve always wanted a white strapped watch. It may be hard to maintain since it gets dirty easily but it would really brighten up any outfit. Then I saw it. The perfect Fossil watch with a square face, watch strip and feature both digital and analog time. Wow. The moment I tried it on, I knew that it was destined to be on my wrist. I paid for it and forgot the price at the back of my head.

{13 April 2007}   My First Bling

Being a business graduate, I have a few ideas on making a great investment. As a shopaholic, buying investment pieces is a must. Of course, you get to use them for a long time and hopefully they adapt to the constantly changing trends. Investment pieces are usually accessories like bags, sunglasses and jewelry. Oh yes, jewelry is a very good investment.

My mom used to work in a jewelry store but I was very young then to understand their true value. Plus, I never liked yellow gold since they make me feel old. I prefer white gold or silver. Jewelry shopping was never my forte. The idea came to me when a friend introduced me to it. I’ve only bought two articles: a necklace and a pendant. It was a great buy since the design of the pendant was really funky yet classy. It looked like a small barrel in white and yellow gold. Well, it should be nice considering the fact that it cost me more than a month’s paycheck. By the way, I forgot to mention, the pendant was from Bulgari. Next project, the matching ring.

{10 April 2007}   Short Shorts

short shortsWhile riding the train on my way to work, I amuse myself by staring at the different billboards scattered along the way. I saw the ads for the upcoming Beyonce concert, the newest endorser of a new brand and the that guy wearing an interesting outfit. Wait, he looked all preppy on top but is wearing short shorts and loafers! Interesting.

One weekend trip to the mall, I decided to visit Zara. They have nice clothes but the prices are kinda high for me. I was going around then I noticed them. I saw a short walking shorts in plaid! I instantly fell in love it! I hurriedly paid for them not caring how much they cost. When I wore them, I felt really happy. Thank God he gave me slim legs so it was not awkward for me to wear shorts a little higher than my knees. I usually pair it with a simple top since I want to make the shorts the highlight of my outfit.

{9 April 2007}   Victoria’s Secret Bag

When I hear the brand Victoria’s secret, I always picture those angels walking down the runway in colorful and sexy outfits. The brand has been synonymous to underwear and lingerie. While browsing the net for something new to buy, I came upon several stuff from Victoria’s Secret and they were all on sale! There was a wide choice of perfumes, slippers, and bags. BAGS. I love bags! I check the pictures and fell in love with a huge travelling bag.

I checked the real price in the website and it was around $100 dollars but luckily, I got it at a lower price. So I placed my order and paid it. Yehey! I now own a huge black bag from Victoria’s Secret. I waited for about a month or it to arrive. When it finally arrived, I was really excited to see it. It was carefully wrapped. The material was leather-like, shiny and durable. The handles and trim were of patent leather. The interior was of a leopard print. Just plain fab and fierce inside and out. I an’t wait to use it tomorrow. I don’t care if its too big. I’ll make it work. Haha!

{7 April 2007}   That Top Is A Catch

I wasn’t really in the mood to shop lately since i’m low in cash and my credit card bills are just killing me. So my usual day at the mall is usually window shopping and dining. Last Saturday, I had a vey long day. It started with a short meeting at a friend’s place then I hurriedly went to the hospital to go to my dentist. After lunch, I went to the mall to meet up with a friend. While waiting, I decided to go around and check the department store. There were A LOT of great stuff. Too bad I didn’t have cash with me.

Then I saw it. It was a long sleeved, button-down top with red on white vertical stripes. Just plain perfect for summer! I saw an exact same top at Topman but this was way cheaper! I was torn whether I would buy it or not since there was only one left in my size. Fine, I left the mall and went home. The next day, I could still not forget about the top so I went to a branch nearer to my place. It must be fate because there they were, hanging in one corner! I hurriedly got my size, went to the fitting room and tried it on. Perfect. I paid for it and felt really happy. I wonder, what pants would go well with it? Hmm.

{6 April 2007}   Swimming Trunks

Summer gives one the chance to shop with a cause. You need the right outfit to bask in the sun and look fabulous despite the searing heat. One day, my friends and I decided to go on a road trip to spot high above the city. As expected, the wind was cool but the the sun was still hot. On our way home, we decided to stop by some outlets that sell authentic but really cheap clothes. There were shops of Nike, Speedo, Adidas and the list goes on.

We went on our own separate ways and check out the complex. I went to Speedo to check some swimming gear. The board shorts were still expensive so I headed to to the trunks section. Boy was surprised to see them on sale at 50% off! I bought a simple navy blue trunks and a sleeveless top. When I went to Nike, I saw that their trunks were on sale at 70% off so I bought another one. Both were great buys and would really make a great addition to my wardrobe. In the car, we were all happy and contented with out purchases. I can’t wait to hit the beach.

{3 April 2007}   Exercise Outfit

exercise attire

Most of us think that when we exercise, we can simply wear a shirt and shorts and sneakers. The outfit would actually depend on the type of exercise your are doing. One doesn’t have to compromise fashion when exercises. You can still look fab even if you’re sweating like a pig and struggling with the moves.

Brands like Adidas and Nike have great selections of apparel and shoes that would suite any exercise. When doing yoga, it is best to wear comfortable clothes which also have a stretch material since the exercise requires flexibility. When running, it is best to wear the right shoes to avoid sore feet or even dead nails. Also choose those with enough support to avoid injuries like sprain. In swimming, choose the right suit or trunks that would be comfortable and would have less drag.

With the new technology in sport apparel, one can choose from a wide variety of products that is perfect for your chosen sport. It is not just about being fashionable but it also practical to wera the right gear to avoid or minimize injuries.
