Fashion Police Never Misses

{15 December 2007}   The White Duffel

Payday. As usual my first trip was to the banks to pay my credit card bills. After paying all of them, I felt poor again. This sucks. I decided to drop by the mall on my way back to work. Promise, I am just going to peek and check out the stores. Actually, I was not the mood to go to every store since I it was kinda hot inside and I did not want to be tempted to buy anything.

Window shopping. Yes, that what i’ll do. Then I saw it on the window. It sat there, waiting for me. I told myself that I did not have any cash and I just bought my Victoria’s Secret bag. I’m just going to check it out. It was a black and white duffel in with a perforated finish. It reminded me of a Louis Vuitton keepall but this was simple and way cheaper at around $25. I checked the bag and went out before my self-control would disappear.

{26 June 2007}   White Pants

When I got out of the shower this morning, it was way too hot! I could feel sweat again. Argh! This is what I don’t like about summer. I started thinking about what to wear in this scorching weather. It has to be light colored, soft and light fabric. I took my orange shirt and my sneakers with orange stripes. Perfect. Now, what pants or shorts should I use?As I rummaged through my closet, I saw them hanging, my white pants.

I rarely use my white pants since they easily get dirty and they make my legs look bigger. The fabric is light and the design is classic. I actually got it on sale for the half the price, I think. When I put them on and checked my self in the mirror, I found the outfit odd. It was normal but I wanted to add an edge to it. I didn’t want to use layers because of the heat. I decided to fold it higher making it a mid-calf walking shorts. Love it. It looked hip and just perfect for the summer. I wore my sunglasses to complete the look and grabbed my carry-all on my way out.

{5 March 2007}   My White Loafers

white loafersI am a shoe addict. I think I have more than 15 pairs mostly comprised of sneakers. Shoes, just like bags, can make or break an outfit. I’m not much of a formal leather shoes person so I only have them in the basic colors of black and brown, with a belt to match of course. So, most of my shoes are rubber shoes in different styles and colors. I particularly love canvas slip-ons like Vans since they are comfortable and fashionable.

But my most versatile shoe would be my white leather slip-ons or loafers. I use it in a lot of ways and it goes with a lot of outfits. I use it with a simple jeans and t-shirt get-up. I can go preppy with it with chinos, a pullover and a white shirt. It is also great for breaking the monotony of an all-black outfit just by matching to a white leather belt. Another look would be that perfect laid-back summer look pairing it with a simple shirt and plaid shorts. I just love its versatility and style. It was worth the price.

I suggest you go get one yourself. Channel the inner fashionista in you. Buy a pair that has a classic style, great fit and comfort, and of course good quality.

{3 March 2007}   Preppy Look

preppyWhen I woke up this morning, I noticed that the skies were dark and the air was cold. Great. Another day perfect for staying at home to sleep and laze around the entire day. But I had to go to work so I decided to get out of bed and prepare. While preparing breakfast, I was thinking of what I should wear. Thankfully, we could wear wear almost anything. Of course coming in wearing a bikini would be a disaster that’s why there’s almost.

After taking a bath. I decided to go preppy. I pulled out a white shirt, a black pullover with argyle prints and jeans. Good thing I have my white loafers with me. To complete the look, I used my dark-rimmed Cole Haan glasses for that ‘smart’ look. I took my fab caramel leather messenger bag for that school boy look. I fixed my hair in a more ‘tamed’ style since I was used to wearing it bed-head.

On my way out, I examined my myself in the mirror. I think I did the preppy look right. Then, I left for work.
